Just Another Car Seat Review – or Is It?
Ha, that is the question I sometimes like to ask myself: am I actually looking at what I think I am looking at? Every time I go online to conduct a level of market research, I find myself questioning the creditability of the one who posted the review I am reading, though I do not believe that this kind of criticism is a bad thing. Actually, in this day and age, I believe that it has become even more necessary to move into purchasing a new product extremely slowly, measuring every single step before taking, and all because of the few salesman types that always try to sneak in the back door and pawn some worthless piece of potentially hazardous junk. Care to know how to spot these false reviews? Good! I am about to tell you!
The one thing I have noticed needs to be answered before anyone should believe in any car seat review is whether or not there is a website listed within the review itself. These websites almost always lead back to either the manufacturer’s main webpage, or it leads to a customized online store that offers the products in question. I have only two words for you: multilevel marketing. These websites are designed by those that desire to get commissions off of the products you are looking to purchase. This is fine… I mean, why would we care who gets the commissions from the products we purchase, right? Well… the one thing that is commonly overlooked within these multilevel marketing web stores is the actual information we require before making, well, an informed decision.
For example, the car seat review written by a salesman will suggest that nothing is wrong with the baby seat they represent. That is fine, and perhaps there isn’t anything wrong with it, but it is what they don’t tell you that should give you pause. They do not explain if the baby seat has Luxury Foam or not, what safety features they have to lock the child in place, everything that I have come to require before I put any amount of money on the equipment designed to offer support for my children.
This is the second thing that everyone should look for: technical details. We need to know what we are buying before we receive it in the mail, thank you very much! But here is the catch – even that can be fabricated. Before we believe any car seat review we read, there must be a checking to see if the company they are saying is “pure gold” is actually legitimate. One way we could accomplish this is by checking the company’s website itself. All of the information will be listed on that website, making the claims of the car seat review currently in question believable… or regrettable.
